Roisin hits 10 x press-ups!
Roisin has completed 5 months of training with FBF and has shown incredible progress.
Roisin is a keen runner and enjoys keeping fit but came to us looking to increase her strength and muscle tone, especially in her upper body.
During her first month of training Roisin managed to complete 2-3 full press-ups. In this video she quite comfortably completes 10 full press-ups showing that consistency and hard work really do pay off!
Roisin is now off getting married and looking forward to a much deserved holiday with her new husband.
We wish them both the very best of luck!

Lorna's strength journey!
Lorna has completed over 2 years of training with FBF and to say she has made outstanding progress would be an understatement!
Lorna was born with cerebal palsy which mostly effects one side of her entire body, particularly her strength, mobility and coordination.
Lorna speaks openly about the challenges growing up with cerebal palsy and the limitations associated with the condition, especially in the health & fitness industry where there's generally a lack of understanding around the benefits of strength training for the condition.
Thankfully Lorna decided to ignore the general advice and through her determination and encouragement from her father, has grown from strength to strength over the past 2 years!
Lorna's first ever training session with me starting with lifting a 6kg kettlebell which at that time was a great achievement for her. In this video she is deadlifting her own bodyweight for reps using an olympic barbell.
Not only is her increase in strength and lean muscle development evident, but she also now has improved mobility, straighter posture, stronger walking gait and not to mention a drop in overall bodyweight of over 1 stone!
A great inspiration for anyone who thinks it not possible... whats your excuse?

Steph & Sunita press-up challenge!
Steph and Sunita have completed over 18 months of training with FBF and watching their development in both strength and fitness has been brilliant to witness as a coach.
Both girls show up consistently each week and push each other every single session.
With the year nearly over and xmas just around the corner, I set them both the challenge of completing 8 x full bodyweight press-ups (with very little notice!).
As expected, both girls smashed the challenge displaying excellent upper body strength and control.
Press-ups are a challenging and often under-estimated strength and endurance exercise that many individuals struggle with. If you want to test your upper body strength, see how many full and controlled bodyweight press-ups you can do!
Well done to both girls... 15 reps next time!!!

Benn completes his first training block!
A big well done to Benn who has just completed his first training block with FBF.
Benn, who has 'Type 1 Diabetes' and very little training experience has been putting in the hard work over the last few months in both the gym and also the kitchen.
Benn shows up consistently each week and gives each session 100%. This combined with better nutritional choices has made a huge difference to Benn in such a short space of time.
Not only does Benn feel stronger and have more energy but he's also dropped a massive 3.7kg of total bodyweight!
Well done Benn, Keep up the good work!

Katrina completes the Great Scottish Run 2025!
Katrina has been training hard over the last few months in order to take part in her very first half marathon.
Already an accomplished track and road runner, Katrina wanted to test her strength and endurance over the longer distances.
To achieve this we set up a plan committing to 3 x structured training runs each week focussing on aerobic base fitness and speed endurance.
We also included 2 x strength & conditioning gym sessions each week, an essential component in our training plan to build durability and prevent injury.
Katrina put on a strong performance completing the 13.1miles in a solid 1hr 42min with nearly even mile splits the whole way.
Katrina's next goal is to break the much sought after 1hr 30min for the half marathon!

Sunita completes the Belfast Half Marathon 2025!
A busy mum of 3 and working full-time, Sunita has shown great dedication over the past 3 months preparing for her half marathon.
To achieve this we set up a plan committing to 3 x structured training runs each week focussing on aerobic base fitness and speed endurance.
We also included 2 x strength & conditioning gym sessions each week which Sunita completed along side her training partner Stephanie, also a busy mum of 2.
Balancing work, family and a busy social life, both girls consistently show up each week and put in the work, whether that means early mornings or late evenings - they get it done!
Sunita put in a solid performance completing the half marathon in 2hrs 28min and has already committed to taking on the half marathon again next year, this time aiming to shave off a few more minutes which I have no doubt she will achieve!

Des prepares for Asia!
A huge well done to Des (76 years young) proving that age is no barrier.
Des has been putting in the hard work in preparation for an upcoming hiking expedition in Asia.
The main goal was to improve mobility, increase strength, build stamina and boost confidence.
Completing just 1 x session per week we have been working on developing posture, increasing core strength and building leg stamina, especially in the hips. Each training session was fully bespoke with all exercises adapted to suit Des's fitness level and age.
Des is now feeling stronger, fitter and more mobile, giving him the confidence to take on any challenge!
